Wow we've had some great adoptions lately: George has a fantastic home with his new buddy Miss Kitty and looks happy as a clam in the pictures his new mom sent.  Meanwhile Mr. Poe (from West Coast Cat and Dog Rescue) lives on a little land with llamas and a great dad.  Plus Simon the Siamese was just adopted and has a new Snowshoe Siamese brother. Simon is now nicknamed "gummy bear" for his cuddly and pliable nature.  On top of all that, our litter of three tuxedo kittens (from The Cat's Pajamas Rescue) are going home together, because as his new hu-mom said, "I can't separate a family" and she's ready for a new "generation of cats" in her home!  We are so excited to see our kitties go home with great people.
The pretty cat above is Juno (Save the Pets) and she is here waiting to be adopted.  She is just about 1.5 years old and very cute.  She is friendly and loves hanging out in the cat trees in our cattery.
By the way, we hope you're enjoying this beautiful weather and the beginning of football season.  We have your dog's fan jersey here, as well as Duck's beds and hair bows!  In other things green, we just got fresh catnip and catnip toys.  The companies are regional and local, like Hot Cats and From the Field.  Come see us soon!                       9/4/2012

 Mr. Poe & Simon
8/7/2012   Our two West Coast kitten boys Tyler & Toulouse were adopted together this past weekend!  Those boys love each other and were about the same age (9 months) and played together every day (and night).  We miss their playful presence and frequent talking but were so glad to see them go into a great home together.  With their departure, we gained two new adoptables- Simon, a beautiful Siamese, and Mr. Poe, a mostly white kitty from West Coast C&D Rescue.  Both are very friendly cats and are about 5.  Simon has a great Siamese personality and doesn't meow much (so far at least).  Check out our facebook page for more pictures of these two! Search: Nature's Pet Market Eugene on facebook.
In other store news we have some fun summer products including  Kong Easy Freeze Kits for make your own icy cold dog treats and several floating toys.  We also carry Dog Frozen Yogurt that's a perfect treat for these hot days.  Also don't forget to bring water with you and your pup- if you haven't picked one up already, we have a ton of choices for portable water dishes.  We hope your summer is going well and that we'll see you soon. We're always happy to answer your questions and meet your dogs (or cats!)

We had a fantastic 2 Year Anniversary Celebration!  Thank you to everyone who joined us.  We gave away a lot of free samples and raffle prizes. A congrats to our big winner of the NutriSource basket and the Earthborn dog food.   George was adopted the Monday after the event and an application was turned in on a Wiggly Tails adoptable dog.   We all miss George (a shop favorite and beautiful, sweet cat) very much but were happy to see him go to a great home.  We're up to 86 cats in 2 years and we appreciate all the adopters and community members who work so hard for the kitties and utilize our cattery space.  Any way, thank you to our customers for these two past years of steady growth and here's to many more!
As a note, we currently have Toulouse and Tyler available for adoption. Call us for more information and visit our facebook page for more pictures of them. https://www.facebook.com/pages/Natures-Pet-Market-Eugene/138160652943575#!/pages/Natures-Pet-Market-Eugene/138160652943575

Kitty, Kitty, Kitty

We are happy to announce 83 cat adoptions, but Miss Tazzy and Cinnamon are still awaiting their person/s.  Tazzy is such a happy cat and will make someone a friendly and fun companion.  Cinnamon is very sweet once she actually comes out of her castle.  We also have a new guy: GEORGE. He is one handsome cat.  Pictures to come--- Tazzy is keeping him high up in the kitty castle for today.  You will love this beautiful buff cat- he's about 5.
Also we hope you'll join us and several other local orgs. at Greenhill Humane Society's Bark in the Park this Sunday May 20!  Giveaways and fun.

Tuesday, April 24, 2012

Ever since we built our upper cattery we have folks asking, "You don't have any cats today?"  In reality, we have 5!  But they're up top enjoying the view of people walking by and snoozing.  Our four tuxedos are 2 females: Tazzy (3yrs) and Sasha (1) and two boys: CJ (1) and Benji (1, brother of CJ), plus we now have a sweet Calico named Cinnamon (5yrs).  All of our kitties are up to date on shots, spayed or neutered, and treated for worms and fleas.  Benji and Tazzy are the most outgoing of the bunch so far, but Cinnamon just got here yesterday.  Sasha has a beautiful little white spot on her cheek and CJ is a cute fuzzy guy who still looks like a kitten.  We're seeking excellent homes for them, so please help us spread the word!

Happy New Year Updates, 17 Jan. 2012

We hope that your new year is off to a great start! Ours is: since we opened about 18 months ago we've had 72 cats adopted out of our cattery. Pierre, a sweet tuxedo kitty, is our most recent and he was here just one day before a wonderful woman gave him a home. We are also enjoying seeing our valued regular customers and meeting new people on a daily basis.  Since we've added a few new faces in the last year here's a quick run down: Mark, as you may know, is the store owner and he's here 7 days a week.  Kelly has been at Nature's Pet Eugene almost since we opened- Kelly has a background in veterinary offices and has quite a collection of her own pets icnluding Sugar Gliders.  Megan has been with us about six months and her previous position was Adoption Counselor and Events Coordinator at the Santa Cruz SPCA.  As for the store, we've recently added a few new foods/treats such as Before Grain dry cat food, Weruva cat food (coming next week), Pure Vita in Salmon, and Kong training treats.  We also have a great collection of beds and cat trees, many of them made locally and sustainably. Please visit us with your nutrition or pet care questions as we're always happy to try to help.

Here's a picture of recently adopted Peirre and one of Coraline (now Corina) with her new sister Tessa.
