Happy New Year Updates, 17 Jan. 2012

We hope that your new year is off to a great start! Ours is: since we opened about 18 months ago we've had 72 cats adopted out of our cattery. Pierre, a sweet tuxedo kitty, is our most recent and he was here just one day before a wonderful woman gave him a home. We are also enjoying seeing our valued regular customers and meeting new people on a daily basis.  Since we've added a few new faces in the last year here's a quick run down: Mark, as you may know, is the store owner and he's here 7 days a week.  Kelly has been at Nature's Pet Eugene almost since we opened- Kelly has a background in veterinary offices and has quite a collection of her own pets icnluding Sugar Gliders.  Megan has been with us about six months and her previous position was Adoption Counselor and Events Coordinator at the Santa Cruz SPCA.  As for the store, we've recently added a few new foods/treats such as Before Grain dry cat food, Weruva cat food (coming next week), Pure Vita in Salmon, and Kong training treats.  We also have a great collection of beds and cat trees, many of them made locally and sustainably. Please visit us with your nutrition or pet care questions as we're always happy to try to help.

Holiday Food and Toy Drive! 12/14/2011

First off we'd like to say a big "thank you" to our generous customers, many of whom have already donated items to our Holiday Drive.  If you'd like to join in there's plenty of time left.  We are taking donations though Christmas of money, Food, Toys and other pet items that are so needed for the animals in our local shelters (LCAS, Greenhill Humane Society) and rescues (The Cat's Pajamas, Save the Pets).  We have suggestions based on the orgs. wish lists and plenty of in-store items that will help out in a big way, including bags of food at 20% off.

Cat Adoptions Update 11/16/2011

With Millie and Darla adopted we're up to 62 adoptions!  We are elated for Millie who waited a long time for her forever home.  Come in soon to see our adoptable cats and kittens.

Our Small Animal Section has Expanded! 9/21/2011

We've expanded our small animal section (which includes food for ferrets, guinea pigs, rats, hamsters, gerbils and rabbits) to include hay.  HAVE A RABBIT?  Did you know that rabbits are herbivores that need a high fiber diet. In addition to commercial rabbit pellets,  rabbits should also have fresh timothy hay, alfalfa or orchard hay (all of which we now carry) in unlimited quantities at all times. Rabbits also enjoy chewing on apple, orange, lemon or willow tree branches and these help keep their (open rooted: continuously growing) teeth properly worn down.
