(Overdue) Adoption Update 12/30/10

OK, we're wa-a-a-ay overdue for a kitty adoption update. We're very proud to announce that we've had 32 cat adoptions from our store so far! The fuzzy polydactyl brothers Carl, Abe, and Bogey all found loving homes, as did our clownish tuxedo, Otis. Our sweet, jet-black girl Midnight was snatched up by a volunteer at Save the Pets. Orange-and-white O'Malley enjoyed the privilege of patrolling the store during his stay with us. He made a lot of human friends that way, and one longtime admirer fell in love with him and took him home. Our sweet and loving tuxedo called Boots found a great home with a couple of veteran cat owners; it was love at first sight for all of them when he climbed into their arms and started licking their chins! Finally, we're thrilled that our latest bonded littermates found forever homes together: Brothers Aaron (white and black patched) and Bosley (all black) will continue to play and cuddle together in their new home--when they're not too busy playing and cuddling with their new owners! Also, tuxedo siblings Dottie and Blaze found a great new family and a home with room for both of them. Of course, we miss all the great cats that we've sheltered, but the goal is to help them find forever homes with humans who will love them as much as we do. We LOVE hearing updates about them from their new families, and they all sound like they're doing great! Let's all continue to work together to help stop pet homelessness in our town.

On that note, we have some new cats who are looking for people to love. Come meet tuxedo Tom and his equally well-dressed sister Snip. They're 8 months old, vet checked, and ready to go. We also have pretty gray Misty; she's the mother of Dottie and Blaze, who were just adopted from us! Of course, she is now spayed and vaccinated, and she's looking for someone special to give her belly rubs.

This stuff really works!

We carry two lines of cleaning products here at Nature's Pet. Most people are familiar with Nature's Miracle, which uses enzymes to break down pet stains very effectively. But there's another company called Unique that has its own line of pet cleaning products. Unique cleaners use a combination of enzymes and beneficial microbes to remove stains. Two of our store workers have used it on some tough laundry stains, and it really works, even without rinsing! It comes in several sizes and formulas; some are ready-to-use, and others are concentrated. (The concentrated formula gives you more bang for your buck, of course, but it does have a shorter shelf life because the helpful microbes it contains run out of food and die off more quickly.) So even though this product isn't as well-known yet, we've been very impressed by it. If your tough stains have been giving you a hard time, give this great product a try! Still skeptical? We carry a trial size bottle of concentrated Unique for only $3.99.

Adoption News

Great news! Tortoiseshell sisters Millie and Ellie were adopted together, bringing the total number of cats adopted from our store to 17! (These two had actually just been rotated back to the Save the Pets shelter at Gateway Mall the previous day, but we're including them in our count because thier new owners first found them here.) They love each other so much, so we're very happy that they get to stay together for life. Congratulations to the kitties and their new owners, and good luck!

Adoption Update

Our tiny black kitten Baby found the perfect forever home! She was adopted into a house with two other all-black cats, Esmerelda and Ezekiel ("Zeke" for short), and renamed Cleopatra ("Cleo"). As her new name suggests, she is now living like a queen; we wish her all the best with her new family.

We have new kittens! Come meet Carl, Abe, and Bogey, three brothers with extra fuzz; Abe and Bogey even have extra toes! They're playful 3-month-old babies who are neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, vet checked, and all ready for adoption.

We are also sheltering an adult cat called O'Malley (named after a character in The Aristocats). He's a big cat with a big, sweet personality. He's enjoying the good life (and the good food) after a tough kittenhood on the streets, but he would be grateful for a forever home.

Millie, Ellie, and Otis were rotated back to the Save the Pets shelter at Gateway Mall in Springfield after staying with us for about a month. They all have such incredible personalities, we can't believe that they haven't been snatched up yet! Millie and Ellie are two dilute tortoiseshell sisters. Millie likes to ride on shoulders, and Ellie likes to lick fingers; how cute is that?! Otis is a goreous tuxedo with a clownish personality; he loves to play with toys and run through tunnels. So drop by Gateway Mall and say hi to them, or, if you miss them as much as we do, take them home for keeps!

New Products

Delivery day at the store has brought many fun new products. We are now carrying Lupine dog and cat collars. In addition to being cute they also come with a lifetime replacement guarentee which even covers chewing! Critter Beds has brought us a fine variety of cushy and luxurious crate pads, dog beds and cuddle cubes. They are made locally and machine washable. They come in a variety of bright cotton prints backed or lined in sherpa or plush fabric. Another local favourite is Terapin Catnip. It is 100% organic and grown in Junction City. Choose between "bud" and "flower tops" and watch your cat have so much fun it's almost criminal.

New Kitties!

Nature's Pet Eugene now has 3 beautiful kittens from Save the Pets Rescue. Daisy, Baby and Otis are ready to go home with their forever families.
Daisy is a super soft torti with a white blaze and feet. She is playful, sweet and ready to have her own collection of toys. She is about 6 mo. old.
Baby is a charming little black girl kitty. She likes other cats, being held, and dozing in her cat tree. She is about 4 mo. old.
Otis is a sophisticated tuxedo cat who enjoys the company of people and other cats. He loves to watch the people walk by. He is about 5 mo. old.
All three kitties have been spayed/neutered, micro chipped, vaccinated, and health checked by a vet. They have been tested negative for FIV/FELV and treated for fleas, mites, and worms.
Thinking about adding a cat (or a second, or third, or ....) to your family? Please stop by the store and meet these lovely little guys.
